The main aim of my last visit to the U.S. was to introduce my work to a wider audience. Being involved in art walks gave my work good exposure and it was very well received. I decided to return before the trail went cold and try and procure gallery representation. The summer in this neck of the woods is over and the weather has changed. At the moment the temperature is about the same as an Adelaide winter but I'm told it will get a lot colder. Armed with new Ugg boots and warm clothing I hope to be able to withstand the cold. I am a lover of summer and for the past two years I have been lucky enough to not experience a winter. I guess things are about to change. I look out of a rain speckled window to grey skies that were the brightest of blues when I was here only four weeks ago.
Even though I'm not a lover of the cold, I'm enjoying a season I've not experienced in Seattle before. There is a crispness in the air that leaves you feeling invigorated. To go for a walk in the drizzling rain has a romantic air to it. Okay, its still new for me so I'm hoping it doesn't get old hat too soon, teehee. In the stores I can see evidence of Halloween approaching. Something I have never experienced before. You can imagine my disappointment when I was told I'm too old to go trick or treating but instead need to stay put and give candy away rather than collect it for myself ... sheesh!!! Surely someone would give candy to a weird old Aussie dressed in a Halloween costume, wouldn't they???
